Welcome Rough Typers
Hah. So I made a comment on Rough Type (definitely an “A-List” blog) about how it is only natural “A-List” blogs control a lot of the flow of people to blogs. Also, I put a grovel in at the end for people to come and look at my pitiful little site on a rather dense technical subject.
Of course, this single link has generated more traffic than I have seen in about 3 months of blogging. Enough traffic to make me reconsider the my comment and to perhaps start grovelling to Nick (and others) for more of attention. I feel pretty, and I want to keep it this way.
::sigh::

Well my friend, I hope it works for you
I have subscribed to your blog through its exceedingly hard to find RSS link (yeah I could have just added your URL to google reader, but I was looking for the easy to use Feedburner icon).
And not just because you begged for this somewhere. But you do have some decent content in here and I’d like to catch some of it as I skim through the other gazillion posts I think might provide something useful and inspiring.
Good luck!

Your grovel got me here. You ARE pretty. But where am I…? Your site is way over my head but it was a fun place to visit.

OK, you got me here as well, against my better judgement - still not found the RSS feed like Phil did and I’ve not read through your content yet.
So an “A Lister” managed to send you more traffic but is the traffic staying?

Folks,
Thanks for the feedback. I think it takes a village to raise a website, and your feedback was critical. I have RSS link for the site and for each individual category.
Muchas gracias!

Hey! Saw your comment on Carr’s blog— verrry sweeeet how this worked for you— I’m kind of stumbling onto the same thing, hoping to get a dialog/discussion board thing going on my blog. Could it be that the best way to make new friends and harvest new links is via comments?

Dave,
Thanks, it is kind of ironic how things could work out this way. I am getting a ton more traffic than I had previously, and it is nice. Personally, I have found that intelligent comments on your favorite blogs are by far the best way to generate traffic.
Of course, the comments need to be on subject and well thought out, but if they also include a link back to your blog then it can’t hurt. Basically, it is showing people that you have the kind of writing they want to read.
